instead of flow for flow, let's go show for show

on friday, i saw the blastmaster krs-one live. kid capri and the grand wizard theodore also showed up. though krs is well passed his prime, he still came live with it. the guy was very energetic and animated on stage, yet still delivering crisp flows. he even had local b-boys and b-girls breaking on stage next to him while he flowed.

and for those of you that don't know, krs-one is one of THE most influential rappers EVER. it was a very good show. he went through some classics, such as south bronx, the bridge is over, mc's act like they don't know, and i'm still #1. i'm glad i was able to see this legend.

up next: the upstarts (group with some of the dynamite djs) on the 17th and the roots on feb 12.

Damn dude, you jumped on that like there was no tomorrow... I'm still looking to see if I can find a concert to go to this month!

Blastmaster KRS-1 - I've only had the privilege of seeing Rakim live.

Hmm... Rakim or KRS - which one is more influential - can debate that one forever and a day!

i THINK i'd probably go with krs, simply because he was much more outspoken than rakim was. plus you throw in the whole queensbridge/south bronx stuff.

I think I lean towards Rakim (for biased reasons) but KRS has done more for hip-hop outside of the studio.

With the Queens/South Bronx stuff he's changed his story on that so many times I don't know what to think. I don't think he intentionally did "South Bronx" to battle MC Shan, I think he did it to give himself a platform to get his name out. Not saying that's not fair, just saying that when you interview KRS now about it he says he did it to big up South Bronx. Shan's even called him out on it but KRS defends his position saying that if he didn't have a problem with it he souldn't have made "Kill That Noise."
